Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that increases speaking skills and confidence globally. It has more than 270,000 members in more than 14,000 clubs in 150 countries. Through regular practice and skill development, we empower individuals to achieve their communication goals. Founded in 1924, the organization is based in Englewood, Colorado.
Toastmasters Türkiye forms Division H in District 109, which covers 16 countries and has 13 clubs divided into three regions, five of which hold meetings in English, six in Turkish and two bilingual. Seven clubs are based in Istanbul, four in Ankara, one in Bodrum and one in Izmir. Meetings are face-to-face, online or hybrid.

Toastmasters is an education-focused organization that helps people improve their public speaking and leadership skills.
The first Toastmasters club in Türkiye was founded in Ankara in 1996, followed by the first club in Istanbul in 2007. Founded in 2012, Istanbul Turkish Toastmasters was the first club to organize meetings in Turkish. Ankara Kolejliler Toastmasters was the first multilingual club founded in 2018. Izmir Turkish Toastmasters, founded in 2019, was the first club in the Aegean Region to introduce Toastmasters to Izmir. In 2024, Bodrum Toastmasters club became the second Turkish club established in the Aegean Region.
Milward Brown Toastmasters, founded in 2014, was the first corporate club in Türkiye. Shell Türkiye Toastmasters, founded in 2019, was our other corporate club, but both are no longer active.
Boston Scientific Toastmasters, founded in 2023, is our active corporate club in Türkiye.
Toastmasters Türkiye also plays an important role at the international level with its events. District 109 2023 Handover meeting, the first international event hosted by Toastmasters Türkiye, took place in Ankara. The District 109 Annual International Conference was held in Istanbul in May 2024, highlighting the growth and importance of Toastmasters Türkiye on a global level.
